Those First Pretty Pink Shoes

They had to be pink, of course, and Tara didn't even get a say in the matter, though at some significant point in the future, her wedding day perhaps, we'll present her her shoes with florish and tell her: Baby, you've taken a great lot of steps to get where you've got to today, and the first steps you took in these! And we do love your feet dearly!
Indeed, the prettiest little feet I ever did see (despite that odd little toe nail that seems to grow upward rather than straight), and how she loves it when I bite her tiny heels (not too hard, mummy! Gently!)!
When Tara had her sweet little feet measured, she didn't really know that crucially important things were happening (things that lead to sweaty feet, non-slippery walking experiences, and sentimental presents), thought it was all rather boring, and entertained herself by pulling the sales lady's hair. Is that kind of incident worked into their specialist salary, I wonder?

Shoes are excellent stuff when...

... mummy won't let you go on the play ground cause all the other kids are so much bigger, and you only get to watch...
...mummy takes pity and does let you go (even though we're not quite sure about swings)
...and when mummy decides that just sitting on the grass is fine too (see the great amount of interesting sticks all around? Much better fun than swings!)

Aaaahh, shoes! Wonderful things!
